Hello guys, I pent a year working on this hack and now it's finally released.
SMW The Princess Rescue 2.

I dont have much to say other than this is a classic and traditional adventure where you play as Luigi through 9 worlds, find secrets and etc.

I hope you like it!
Here's the trailers in english and portuguese and some screenshots!

And of course:

I saw this in the waiting hacks section the other day. 116 exits sure is... daunting. But the original was fun and the screenshots look interesting (the submission has more if anyone's interested) so I might end up picking this up even if I don't moderate it.

From what I've played so far, I'll give you praise on the fact the the Star Coins are placed on one side of the level (Before or after the mid point). Thia saves a lot of hunting time and causes less frustration considering coin progress is reset when you die. The whole hack is based on the assumption that the player wants to collect all the coins, so I guess this is why you are so generous with powerups. Some of which could break most levels, but the Star Coins do a pretty damn good job addressing this issue. Kudos to you!

Hi.
Whoa didn't realize this was complete! I can't wait to play it.
Well, this hack looks really nice. I haven't gotten the time to play this hack yet, though the screenshots appear to show some pretty good level design. I especially like some of the screenshots that show some unique locations and entities, like those below. They look really good, and I'm excited to play this later!

116 exits done within one year? This means you did 1 level in roughly 3 days. I wish i was that productive...

However, congrats for finishing this huge project. It will take a while until i can play it, but from the screenshots and trailer, this looks quite fun to play. So good job! Working on such huge hacks certainly isn't easy. #smw{:TUP:}

I also really liked to music you used in your trailer (especially the one in the beginning. It rings a bell, but i can't think of its actual name. Wasn't it from a Zelda game?).

Eu baixei a rom e toquei na minha televisão com hardware real. Você pode assistir no vídeo do youtube. Eu acho que encontrei alguns erros e falhas. Dê uma olhada e obrigado por fazer o hack. Até agora é realmente um truque divertido.

Thanks guys, I'll probably send another update to this hack soon as some players found some cutoffs that passed unoticed during the tests and sent them to me to fix.

Thanks! But There was some days I was very motivated on working in the hack and others I was completely exausthed and out of ideas.
It's all depends on your motivation and free time I guess.

The music in the beggining is the Main Menu theme in Kirby Triple Deluxe(which is a remix of kirby super star save hut theme) and the main song is Ace Attorney Investigations Lying Coldly.

Thanks. I wished I could have used this to fix the DC reset but it was imcompatible with other patches I was using so I decided to do this, but it also means that the dragon coins are way too easy to get now since they are very close to each other.

I've played through world 1 and I must say your level design has improved quite a bit from the first hack. If the general quality stays the same through the hack then this will be an easy accept.

Some comments:

- Not really sure whether keeping all the star coins on mostly one half of the level is better because this sometimes means that star coins are placed directly in the main path (splitting the area where you can place them in half means there's often not a lot of good places to put them), but it's certainly going to reduce frustration considering that star coins unlock things. It's a trade-off that works for this hack, I guess.
- Fire snakes jump into the walls in Pokey Desert.
- The big pokey section just after the midpoint has the potential to cause slowdown if too many are on screen.
- Lots of slowdown throughout Wet Dry Oasis, probably due to lots of sprites and sprite <-> layer 2 tide interaction.
- Consider adding a patch to prevent players from swimming under the bottom row. Otherwise you can skip directly to the end of Fishy Oasis from the first bonus section.
- The angry sun sprite moves very strangely while the screen scrolls left. While this is not your fault, due to that I don't think you should be encouraging the player to move left while the angry sun is active.
- Please please don't hide projectile-shooting enemies behind priority-enabled objects.
- Collecting the orb at the end of the first castle has the potential to fill the screen with garbage for a brief moment while loading the level fade out transition.

Touching the coin outlines here causes the status bar to flash. Not sure what's causing it.

Running on the row of yellow switch blocks at the beginning of Fishy Oasis can kill you if you're big due to a weird interaction with the triple rotating platform.

The fire snake on the left here split into two for some reason.

Hmm...

The second midpoint entrance in the first castle should be moved.

In search of what...?

EDIT: Going to pause for a bit to reduce the amount I have to replay when you update and so I can play other C3 stuff. Shoot me a PM when you update.

Nice hack you've got here, bandicoot; I always liked your hacks, even though some your levels had this problem of being a bit repetitive after a while.

It's strange, really; my guess is, since the coin outline block triggers a rather costly loop, it is messing a bit with the IRQ. Not sure if this is a valid response.

One of the most intersting games so far released yet, can't wait to play it fully.
