Tip: Try not to place secret exits at the very end of levels-- the player will basically have to go through the same level twice. Not logged in.

I was pondering whether or not making this thread would be worth it, but given the developing time this has gone through I might as well release something playable, so here it is:

Centipede's Unnamed Kaizo Hack Demo #1

This is the kaizo hack that I've been developing these past few years. Originally designed to be played with savestates, as the scene was changing I decided to challenge myself and make stuff that was beatable without tools.

This release contains all four completed levels (one of which has a secret exit route that I have yet to show), as well as a sneak peak of various levels on varied stages of completion (mostly pretty early). If you're curious enough you can also open it in Lunar Magic and see even more levels that I didn't bother to show, either because they're barely started or I'm planning on changing them.

First two levels should be doable without tools, but since the other two are older levels and I've yet to fully adapt them, playing them with savestates first is recommended.

Without further ado here are some screenshots:

And here are videos of the levels (most of them are a bit outdated but they should still be useful):

Intro Stage - Purgatory
Stage 1 - Man-eater Forest
Stage ? - Spinning Machine
Stage ? - Pokey level
Mushroom level (Preview)

I guess that's all so I hope you enjoy it!

Floating munchers in 2019 smh

Seriously though, i think some more work on the graphics would be neccessary to make this a thoroughly good hack.
This aside though, the design is very creative and i'm a big fan of puzzly stages. No surprise i already got fascinated by your intro stage. #tb{:DD}

The setups are creative and versatile and to be able to finish the levels you sometimes need to think twice about what you're doing. You definitely won my attention with this hack. Personally i think this is so great!

This is so good and with creative setups as expected. Just pay attention to glitches like the rope glitch and a few minor breaks like in the forest level where I can keep the mushroom and get past some segments.
I like the premise of the incomplete levels and would like to see more. Good luck!

That's definitively a feeling I was going for when designing the levels, so I'm glad that you liked it. As for aesthetics, I haven't bothered much with them as I've been more focused on coming up with ideas and designing the setups, but I'll definitively take care of them in due time.
I like the floating munchers though so they're staying in some cases.

I keep forgeting about those breaks so thanks for the reminder :). I'll definitively try to get levels done a bit faster now that I have more concrete ideas on what I wanna do with them but we'll see.

Not a big fan of the diagonal munchers. Their rotated graphics imply a different hitbox than the normal muncher graphics.

I know it's an aesthetic choice but it might still be worth it to find different graphics to use there.
