Tip: Linear levels aren't necessarily a bad thing. After all, most official Mario levels are fairly linear. Not logged in.
Level not scrolling horizontally

So I got custom castle graphics for my hack, but it only worked on level 78, and there as a file included with it to change that level into a castle. The problem is, I can't get the screen to scroll horizontally. I went to the area to change the number of screens in the level from 1 to however many but nothing happened. I have a pipe entrance and I tried putting the pipe in between 2 screens and it let me scroll as much as I wanted. Then I closed Lunar Magic and opened it later and it wasn't working again. I'm still very new to Lunar Magic so I'm not very good at troubleshooting problems.

Make sure you have horizontal scrolling enabled in the #lm{MARIO69} menu. Also, if you don't have tiles actually on screens 2+, then LM will by default automatically trim the level to only the used screen count (you can disable that in the menu under "Options -> General Options" if you want). Third, make sure you don't have either of the "Layer 2 Scroll S/L" sprites active in the level, as horizontal scrolling will be also automatically disabled for them.
