I'm bored, you're all bored, I think it's time to start up another 72hoSPC contest.
When?
The requirements will be posted on Friday, April 5th, at 6 PM PST. It'll stretch until April 8, 2019 at 6 PM PST.
How?
If you want to submit an entry, simply PM me with your submission during the duration of the contest. The submissions will be anonymous, just like the Idol format.
What?
Just like last 72hoSPC, we'll be doing the voting Idol style - it's a fun way to get involved even if you aren't an active porter on the site.
I'll answer any questions you have in this thread. See you then!
Theme:
Simply port the best song you can. However, you must include at least one sample from the archive in the link below in your final port. A simple requirement for a simple contest. The sample must audibly play for at least 3 seconds in the song to qualify - no just throwing stuff at the end at a teeny volume! Samples
Rules:
Your song must work with the latest version of AddmusicK. #default / #optimized are not required, nor are global songs, SFX or optimization; if it inserts, it's eligible.
All submissions must be PM'd to me (Nameless) in a .zip, .rar or .7z archive. Your submission must contain your MML file, the generated SPC, and all samples used. If you have to make an update, send me a new PM.
When submitting, tell me what sample you used.
Automatic porting programs, such as NintSPC, are banned. However, converting with it2amk is nice and legal.
Breaking any rules will lead to warning and/or disqualification.
Submission period ends at 6 PM PST, April 8th. That's my birthday, by the way. Except I was born about six hours before that, accounting for timezones.
When the contest is over, two days (8th to 10th) will be allotted for voting.
Prize:
Till voting time arrives, feel free to use this thread for any discussion or screaming about the contest. I'll post up a fancy timer in a hot sec.
Best of luck! I hope you all win. Except you, Bryson.
I remember I said somewhere, "don't afraid use any 'bad' instruments, like @17". Distortion Guitar.brr probably in the case, too (though it seems sounds worse than @17)
Okay, this is nice; this actually might be even better for me to do since the rules are not as restrictive this time, and the instruments aren't actually too bad too (except that distorted guitar, what the FUCK is up with that shit; it deadass sounds like a distorted version of the Buzz Buzz sound from Earthbound lmao)
Do we specifically have to make a port, or an original, or does it not matter? Didn't quite get that yet.
So long as your submission meets the sole requirement and enters into AMK, it could be your latest chiptune technorave song playing back on the SPC700 and it will be valid. You can enter anything so long as it follows the rules!
