As always, love the tileset and palette work. The rocks are well-shaded and the textures smooth yet natural. If you have any extra tile space in your ExGFX or are using another palette row for the shaded part of the columns that are right under a platform, giving the set a diagonal left and right darker support beam would be the only extra polish I can think of for the foreground.
The background gradient and ash grey clouds suggest some sort of smog. This comes off as a predecessor or successor to a volcanic level (imagine less volcanic activity during this level) or a mine with its very neutral grey. Props suggest a mine tie-in or inspiration.
The Fuzzies look absolutely crazy like their eyes jitter! I don't think the blue works so well as shading for the teeth because the mouth, being red, makes it look more like Fuzzy has poison or blueberry jam on his teeth. If he isn't supposed to, then how do orange or pink look?
I also like what you did with the Yoshi's Island exploding platforms, and that sprite is one of the best takeaways from that game in my opinion. Changing the number to a colored meter is a cool personalization though the low pixel height of the bar made the graphical meaning go over my head at first (I thought it was just a switch-like icon until I noticed the ones with more presses changing to display a lower, redder meter.)
Just look above you...
If it's something that can be stopped, then just try to stop it!
