Same Sprites, Different Levels

Standard

yea, the name is pretty explanatory isn't it
the idea is to delete everything except the sprites, then make a level based on them (with some few exceptions)
in a way it's kind of a SMW remake too i guess
i've been working on this for about a year now on and off (mostly off), and it's like, 95% done at this point, i just need someone to do the overworlds.. every time i've tried editing anything in the overworld, it breaks
oh yea also the hack's nearly 100% vainilla, there are no patches or custom stuff except for some graphics being changed
anyways enough talk here are a bunch of screenshots

title screen (not finished yet, also idk how to remove that ugly bar at the bottom)

a world 2 level

UNDER CONSTRUCTION, one of the secret levels

one of the secret cloud world levels

a bunch of cloud world levels

mario! you fool! you're in the wrong game!!!

some of the star road and special levels (which are made from scratch)
(the special world levels are made from scratch too)

some world 3 levels

and finally,
This looks amazing#smrpg{:D}
Really good screenshots there. I think the only thing I can complain about is the green pipe outlines, they look a bit bright to me, the note blocks are also with a strange coloring (Unless this is intentional).

This seems like an expansion of the third 24-Hour SMW challenge, which had you choose one of a handful of vanilla levels, remove everything but the sprites, and build a new level around the old sprite layout. Is that what inspired this?

no actually, the inspiration is dumber; i came up with the idea, did one level of it (which was really fun) and for some reason decided to make it into an entire hack

okay i finally figured the editor out sort of
making overworlds is fun except for when it breaks for no reason and you spend a hour trying to fix something that you have no idea how it doesnt work
that looks nice! such an innovative idea
I like to compose music.
Although I still find it a bit hard to transcribe them to SNES.
It is interesting to have various ideas.
i don't really understand what you mean with 'the overworld breaks'

i mean i know how it is to not know how to create certain important things on the overworld. Needed to watch a video from youtube 500 times to finally get it right.

When you know what to do tho, it's very easy.

Still, building the overworld itself is ... something else.

It's kinda fun but i prefer doing the levels.

mostly events not working properly, i've been getting the hang of it much more though
the overworlds are pretty close to being finished now, once that's done i'll just polish stuff up and it'll be finally done
Good Luck!
aw yeah it's FINALLY finished
i just have to get some cool screenshots and write a readme or whatever
https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=section&a=details&id=20884 submitted it! im expecting people to find like 400 bugs literally 2 hours afterwards

EDIT: wow i was right
i'd appreciate more feedback still
right so this will probably be the last actual post here but the hack has had a massive update and uh yea everything's in the hacks page
