I was recently diagnosed with amblyopia/lazy eye. As an adult I cannot expect to ever have normal vision in my right eye, but the vision can improve maybe to a point where I can have normal person binocular vision one day if I do the right exercises and put a patch over my dominant eye for a couple hours each day for like 2 years or so. Anyway, playing SMW just using my crappy eye can actually help, especially if I use a hack where enemies are challenging to see. I remember playing a hack a year or so ago where the enemies (maybe just the koopas, but maybe more) are jet black and very challenging to see. I'd love to give that a go with a patch over my good eye, but can't remember what it was called and the search feature didn't help. Any idea?
I saw this post and I was thinking that maybe it could be done with an emulator filter. I was able to make a quick config in Zsnes using the NTSC filter. This way it could apply to more than just SMW alone!
I tried looking into shaders for snes9x but I'm not really good with that kind of stuff. You might get more luck with that.

Neat idea, I'll give it a shot. For the past few years I've been using a Super EverDrive cartridge in an SNES, but for medical reasons I'm sure dusting off the zsnes could be worthwhile. It's still bugging me trying to figure out which hack I am thinking of though. Thanks!
Thanks. Roto-disco might have it. I actually had searched for 'black', but for some reason didn't see that (it was late...). I'll try it out in a few minutes and should know pretty soon if that's it or not.
