Thanks! I think the slowdown should be at least somewhat reduced now, though I still don't recommend four pairs at once.

There turned out to be a couple more hurdles and edge cases than I thought, but I guess it was worth it, and in the end they came out really solid. (please don't report any bugs though, i want to be done with this :V)
