Hi, I am currently working on my first ROM Hack, I have removed the HUD and made it so Mario starts every level as Small Mario (regardless of previous powerups). However, this same behaviour happens when going through pipes and doors too, is there anyway around this or is this just something I'll have to work around?

One solution would be to handle it by checking $141A and only clearing the powerup if that address is 0.

Alternatively, you could instead clear the powerup on overworld load rather than level load, assuming you haven't added a way to gain a powerup on the overworld. For that, you could leave the code as-is and just insert the code to game mode 0C (which corresponds to loading the overworld).
