Tip: Keep track of ALL patches and hex edits in case you need to transfer your data to a new ROM. It's definitely worth the trouble. Not logged in.
Reducing size of ROM

When i started my hack i used lunar magic to make it 8mb for SA1 purposes. Turns out that size was much more than i needed and people are having trouble running my hack. Does anyone know how to reduce the size down to 6mb? I tried learning how to do it in a hex editor or something but i am finding very little information on how to do this. My coding abilities are still very limited.

I used to put Mario figures in the pipes of my basement to send them on adventures. Plumber dug em out 27 years later. Mission complete I'd say.
Best way is to port everything to a new ROM. I don't think there is a way to reduce the size, unfortunately.
Like Darolac said, you should try porting to a new ROM by exporting your levels, pallets, etc., as well as logging the patches/music/blocks/sprites you added. ExGFX can be directly copied.
I don't think there is a way to reduce ROM size however

I've been making ROM hacks for only a few months now, so sorry if my questions sound stupid...
