Wait, so something confuses me. The rules say that you can have up to four exits yet you can't have multiple levels on the overworld?
For a couple vldcs people made levels with lots of key holes or goal tapes to get around screen length or time limit rules. Usually the rule is two (one regular one secret) but since the actual type of exit doesnt matter the number can be arbitrary.
Essentially you can have up to 4 combined total of level ends (goal tapes, spheres, keyholes, bosses, etc.) If that makes sense
The reason we set it to four is that Lunar Magic 3.x now makes it easy to have additional Secret Exits in a level. Goal Tapes and secondary exit triggers exist for Secret Exits 2 and 3 now. Since CLDC doesn't usually place a ton of restrictions on the participants, and HLDC is essentially a spooky-themed CLDC, we decided to place the exit limit to what LM3.x makes easily available.
You are only allowed to submit one level. Anything outside of the level you submit will not be judged. That includes extra levels you make for credits or end screens. Put them in your level if you want them to be judged.
I guess I'll need to check out the contestants' entries to decide if I have the capacities to compete or not.
I would surely get 0 score on creativity/aesthetics since my use of BG/FG/SP1/SP2 graphics is usually the most basic. At least could I test some spooky sprites and designs.. Yeah, let's see what I can do on this... Maybee...
Good luck everyone.
Edit : Shite, I realize I may have a chance to rank some middle-class position. I will try.
I begin to appreciate these contests more and more. They can show the flaws of every contestant, moreover it also shows good people who are trying to do their best! And it's refreshing for my self-confidence, to know I can submit anything.

I will just say, even if my entry doesn't do well, I had a lot of fun just frankensteining ASM and coding my own ASM in the level itself. Idk why, but halloween level design contests are generally more fun to work on than just regular CLDCs or VLDCs even tho I could technically go spooky with those.
Good luck to everyone who has entered, and may the best entry win.
Edit: Lol oh for f***'s sake I forgot to put myself as a coder in the credits... I kinda knew little things like that would slip.
