Holiday Names have been enabled to celebrate the season! If you want to change your Display Name to something ~spooky~ just go into your profile, look for the Appearance section, and put something in the line called "Display Name", like so:
When you save your profile changes, you'll now have a Holiday Name! This name will automatically disappear when the Holiday Names are turned off. If you're unsure who someone is because they're using a Holiday Name, you can always hover your mouse cursor over their name and the hover text will tell you their normal username.
Normal site rules still apply to choosing a Holiday Name, so keep these things in mind:
1. You may not choose offensive or insulting names.
2. Do not impersonate other users, including banned users, without their explicit permission. This will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
3. Your name must be at least 3 characters long, just like with regular usernames.
Lastly, this year we have a new feature: the ability to Disable Holiday Names entirely. If you don't like trying to figure out who's who, there is now an option in the Options section of your Edit Profile page for "Show Display Names". It's enabled by default, but if you uncheck the box there, you will no longer see Holiday Names:
