This is a side project to the SMW Remastered project, featuring a capless version of Mario. An asm patch has been included to fix errors that would occur with only GFX changes: Mario's hitbox, walking animation frames, growing/damage animation, and the Mario tilemap. The Mushroom has been changed out for a Cap, but this is easily reversible per the instructions in the readme.
There is a known problem with the 8x8 GFX00 tiles missing, so Mario's hands and feet will appear to be cut off. I am not sure how to fix this. When/if I am able to, I will post and updated version. Feel free to use the Capless Mario GFX in place of large Mario in your own hack instead. I am also aware that Capless Mario appears to be standing 1 pixel higher than the larger forms, but I am unable to fix this.
I asked the ASM team to look at the included patch, and was told it breaks our Patch section guideline of
Your patch may not consist exclusively of simple hex edits.
I'm going to suggest you post about these hex edits here and direct users to them in the description (and readme) for your submission.
As an addition, it was pointed out that since you replaced the Mushroom graphics with the cap, 1ups are now green caps as well. This itself isn't a problem, but maybe could be something to look at solving before resubmitting.
