Hi. And where can I put a sprite player for contest?
I'm not sure I follow your question, but for this contest there are only Foreground and Background categories. There is not a category for Player graphics, so you will not be submitting graphics for that.
For example: can I use the Smw graphics and put exgfx
You cannot use Super Mario World's graphics for various reasons covered in the Rules:
- The contest is about making your own graphics. SMW's graphics aren't your own graphics.
- SMW's graphics aren't new and made after the contest's start.
- SMW's graphics don't follow the Steampunk theme.
I do have a question: Are we allowed to use alt. ExGFX(60, 61, 62 or 63) for extra animation?
And as the rules states, I am allowed to edit palettes 2 and 3 at my leisure, right?
One more thing: Can I use GFX for FG3 into BG1 after I wasted all of FG3? (BG1=BG2, FG3=BG3)
I have trouble having to find downloads for (Ex)GFX60, 61, 62 or 63. Are they found in a special place?
Molsno provided an Alt ExGFX file in his ExAnimation tutorial. Link to the file
Know that you could also have created your own 6.5kB ExGFX file by expanding the size of a regular ExGFX file. Most hex editors are able to do this
My version for some reason can't. Still, thanks, Eminus. I'm going to work on the last ExAnimation thing as I have remaining space.
As for tileset progress, I'm done, except for the thing mentined above.
Also another question: after I've released the tileset and published it to the contest, am I allowed it to work on it further?
I obeyed the contest's rules and now would be the time to apply my rules.
Edit: Can AN2 GFX file and AN2 ExGFX file coexist? I edited something in the AN2 ExGFX file, saved, opened LM to load it via ExAnimation file, but nothing. What's wrong? And what would the name of the file be for such ExAnimation?
Edit: Never mind. Found it the hard way. Also, I released my entry, but I feel like a bit of upgrading things is okay.
