Custom Mario palettes + Multiple midway patch error

I applied Erik's Custom Mario palette's patch to my ROM, and it seems to have incompatibilities with imamelia's Multiple Midways patch (long ago inserted w/ xkas). The Mario palette's patch works fine, but everytime I get a midway from a level that uses multiple midways, Mario is entering the wrong level (i.e. Mario enters the original level on the Overworld with the settings stated in multiple midway tables file, and not the sublevel that is set). This does not happen if the Mario's Palette patch is not applied.

I've tried it with three different !FreeRam adresses in the custom mario palette's asm file: $0F50 (originally set), $13E6 (an advise from WYE), and $0060 (it states in the SMWcentral RAM Map that there are 4 empty bites but I don't know if that adress is even reasonable).

Any ideas?

So, um no idea? Are these two patches just incompatible or might it be due to the old Multiple midway patch that's been inserted with xkas?
Isn't there some code overwriting the other patch?
Here's the cusmarpal.asm code, before I just give it up.

Those two patches insert hijacks near the same spot, so whatever patch you apply last will undo changes in the first.

In this case though I *think* the solution is an easy one. In cusmarpal.asm, try getting rid of this part entirely:
