A 2019 Mosts Delay, but for exciting reasons!

Hey everyone! For those of you on the Discord - an announcement from a few days ago noted how the Mosts would be delayed by a day or so. After further thought + work, we have decided to push back the Mosts until December, date pending. If you weren't in the Discord, surprise!

We took a look at a lot of feedback we received on the Mosts in previous years - and this year we would like to introduce categories for Best General Hack of 2019, Best Kaizo Hack of 2019, and Best Resource of 2019. However, the current internal Mosts system currently cannot support non-user categories, and we'd rather take the time to revamp that system to be able to include some non-user categories rather than cut them or go back to forum voting. It also works out because we feel the Mosts should be hosted in December anyways - y'know, the actual end of the year.

Why wasn't this done earlier? Good question! Sometimes things just sneak up, and while the Mosts themselves were done for a while, moving them into the internal system brought up issues we didn't anticipate.

I would like to open this up to feedback about the Mosts while we're at it. What categories would you like to see? Should we include any other non-user categories? What could be done to the Mosts to make them more exciting to partake in?

Thanks for understanding. I'll answer any questions I can, but any invasive questions regarding the site coding I'll have to bug Telly to answer.
I feel like for best resources it could get really scattered because of I can imagine opinions among the community are extremely mixed if we're thinking about resources broadly. Maybe we narrow it down to music, graphics, patches, etc and have individual categories for each of those?

I'm assuming most missed won't be a category this year?

Completely agree with that. It's pretty hard to decide what is the best resource between an excelent patch and an excelent music, but it would be easier to compare items in the same category.
Looking forward to this year's mosts. I feel I've had a more active role this year as opposed to other years where I was around for a few days and then disappeared. So I'll have a lot more of a clear idea what my votes will be. Interested to see how things work out this year.

I do feel that "Best Resource" is a bit too broad of a category, though, so deciding what's truly the best resource will be kinda awkward. Perhaps narrowing it down a bit would help, as Samantha above pointed out.

I've got nothing interesting to add. Woe is me.
Not sure what position to take in splitting resources into individual categories... I understand the background of it, but the year when those were a thing they got really few votes (I recall some patch or song got Gold with only 2 votes... which is weird), but on the other hand I think it would depend on how mosts are handled nowadays (the new voting system page). I'm neutral about this.

Speaking of, how would the trophies be handled for hacks/resources with multiple authors? I'm assuming you'll give them to all the people credited as authors but resources with a usergroup instead of users comes to mind (like this, for example), as it seems that usergroups can't earn trophies at the moment (and yes, I mention that because hacks made specifically by the Romhack Racers Team have high chances to win something, or also JUMPĀ½ made by their respective usergroup)

Our system generates a list of trophies to go along with the winners, but we still have to manually approve them before they get handed out to everyone. If a usergroup wins a trophy, it would be easy enough for us to distribute it to everyone in that group instead of the group itself getting the trophy.
