As long as the music request thread has existed it's always been pretty dead with very few requests actually being fulfilled, as well as the staff not updating the first post ever. I think a big part of the reason why port requests almost never get fulfilled is because a lot of people ask for ridiculous songs and don't provide MIDI files or literally any resource besides YouTube links.
I think the staff should redo the thread again and make it a rule that you MUST provide a MIDI, SPC, or tracker file (.mod, .it, .s3m, etc) in order for the request to be posted. I think a lot more requests would actually be fulfilled that way and the thread won't be a wasteland for requests that have never been claimed. It would also be cool if a trophy system was implemented for completing a certain number of requests, kind of like the hack moderation point trophies.
I think requests without MIDIs, SPCs, or tracker files provided are the reason not so many people volunteer in fulfilling them. Heck, even requests with additional resources rarely get implemented.
It'd be nice if we had another contest for badge design at some point. I think badges for 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 requests fulfilled would be enough. I don't think there's anyone insane enough to go through 100 requests.Calling Tim Follin a musical genius would be offensive to him.
